Today begins the next Great Lakes delivery. Today I arrived in Kenosha, WI to pick up a
2005 Mikelson 43-foot Sport Fish. She is
powered with twin Cummins QSC 540hp engines.
While her current name is Kristiania, her new name will be Reel'n in
the Years. She is going all the way home
to her new owner in Carolina Beach, NC.
This trip will take us through 4 out of the 5 Great Lakes (Michigan,
Huron, Erie and Ontario skipping only Superior), through the Welland Canal, the
Oswego Canal, the Erie Canal down the Hudson River to NYC and then down the
east coast. A long trip indeed.
Joining me on this trip is Keith Skipper, a good friend of
the owner who is looking to get into the delivery business. Keith is also from North Carolina and has a
few boats of his own; a 22-foot Carolina Skiff as well as a 30-foot Com-Pac
sailboat. This will be his first venture
onto the Great Lakes.
The weather looks good for us tomorrow and we are anxious
begin the long trip south. As always the
SPOT locator will be on and I will try to update the blog each night.
