It's a Marathon; not a sprint

Sorry no update last night. The marina did not have wifi and I didn't have cell service in Aurora, IN. We had another good day running 218 miles. I'm getting a little tired of the gloomy weather and cold temperatures, however. It didn't get out of the 50's yesterday. It's June and I'm wearing a coat and socks. Something is wrong. We finished last night at mile marker 499. We should make it to Pittsburgh on Friday.

A few people have asked how I like the river.  The Ohio River is really quite nice. The river is deep and wide and very calm. It makes for easy, low stress running compared to the Intracoastal Waterway on the East Coast. I don't think we saw 10 channel markers all day yesterday because, for the most part, the whole river is navigable. The scenery is nice too. Lots of houses and small towns along the way. There are also a ton of casinos and power plants. It makes for an interesting run.  We have been able to read the history of the river out of one of my chart books as we are checking off the mile markers. I've enjoyed the trip.
