Underway

Well, we had a small wrench thrown into the works late on Wednesday. About 5:00pm Bruce got a call from the lockmaster and they told him there was a problem with the lock and that if might be another day before the lock could open.  Oh well, what are you going to do?

Not much we could do. Bruce spoke to them again in the morning and this time they said they thought the lock would open at 2:00 in the afternoon. That was good news. Bruce and I went out and did our provisioning for the trip around 11:00. On the way back to the house, Bruce called the lockmaster to see if they were making progress. Lockmaster said they just finished the repair and we could come anytime now.

Great! We get back to the house; put all of our stuff on board and stowed away, and we untie the lines. We finally get to smell some diesel burn. We are off the dock at 1:00 and heading south.

We have a great run down to St Augustine. We stop at the St Augustine Municipal Marina and top off the fuel tanks. It is only around 4:30 so we decide we can make a few more miles. We run down to Palm Coast where Meridians and Sea Rays are built and pull into Hammond Beach Marina for the night.

What a nice first day. It was a bit breezy, but the sun was out and the temperature was in the low 80's. Today we will try and leave at 7:00 this morning and head down to Stuart, FL. The weather is turning a bit colder now and there is a chance of rain, but with the enclosed bridge on the 441 we should have no troubles.  Here are a few pictures from the day.

  1. Hey Keith!
Glad to see you're out and about again. We are still at Admirals Cove in Jupiter. We're hoping to get a weather window to hop over to the Bahamas soon, and spend a few days over there. Give us a honk if you happen to pass by in the ditch :-)-Best- Lora, Jim, and of course Penny
